Synopsis

The musical tells the story of the hideously deformed Phantom who lurks beneath the stage of the Paris Opera, exercising a reign of terror over all its occupants. He falls fatally in love with the young soprano Christine, devoting himself to creating a new star for the Opera by nurturing her extraordinary talents and employing all the skills at his disposal.

Phantom has won every major British theatre award for Best Musical, including the Olivier Award and the Evening Standard Award. It has also broken every advance box office record since it opened in London, and the cast album was the first in British musical history to enter the charts at number one. They have also won 7 Tony Awards.
