Synopsis

Set in the 1920s, Millie Dilmount (Julie Andrews) is a young woman who comes to New York where she meets Miss Dorothy (Mary Tyler Moore). Millie changes her image to that of the "modern" woman, a flapper, so that she can become a stenographer and marry her boss. Miss Dorothy becomes the target of Mrs. Meers (Beatrice Lillie), who runs a white-slavery operation. Muzzy Van Hossmere (Carol Channing), wealthy heiress, is met who helps things get straightened out in the end.
