Synopsis

The story of Johnny Jones who has gone to Britain to ride his horse Yankee Doodle in a derby. He is accused of throwing the race and after hiring a private detective learns that he was framed by an American gambler and is able to clear his name. Later Johnny's girlfriend Goldie Gates has been kidnapped. When Johnny and his private detective apprehend the abductor, he turns out to be the same villain who framed him in England.

This was George M. Cohan's 3rd musical and his first hit.

In 1982 there was a revival of Little Johnny Jones starring Donny Osmond but it only survived one night on Broadway.
