Synopsis
A young woman from Ireland marries an East Indian doctor and after making her home in India, the woman dies in childbirth. The musical begins as the woman's mother, a widow, comes to visit and learns of her daughter's death. At first she is angry in her grief and then she comes to know, and eventually love her son-in-law (who is, of course her age).
