I have to say that this show absolutely blew me away. It was one of the best performances I have ever seen. Take the chance and I'm sure you'll be totally awestruck as well!

I had the misfortune of seeing this "show" during its opening week. The only thing it had going for it was its creative staging and costumes made out of trash. Oh, and Ramona Keller. Other than that, this show is trite, boring, and, although the music can sometimes be good, is ultimately held back by incredibly inane and ridiculous lyrics ("where homes are made of gingerbread"). I can't believe that this show got produced on Broadway--it would have fared much better off-Broadway and wouldn't have infuriated ticketholders as much as it did. It's cool that Mark Schoenfeld was homeless and that he was able to write this (albeit it's a piece of trash), but why not workshop it more before you embarass the cast and the authors with this underdevelopped piece of garbage? And why name a theatre after him?

This show is just terrible. Although it does have its shinning moments, the show as a whole is INCREDIBLY weak. I am sick of shows that think they can rely on music alone, especially shows with music and lyrics as awful as Brooklyn. Aside from the complete absence of plot and awful music/lyrics/book/acting, I will commend the set and costume designer for the creativity and effectiveness of the work. I must also praise Eden Espinosa's gargantuan vocal prowess and Ramona Keller's entire performance in their roles, but this is the type of show you should be paid to see, not the other way around. This show is atrocious!
